''I just hate the feeling of being so mad at someone you love so much.''
The story of Hades and Persephone goes on, but this time we get to see the reality between them. The real feelings, the desire, the forbidden love, and the real trauma Persephone goes through.
I waited so long to read this, and now I am so in love, just like I’m reading the first volume for the first time again. I LOVE all the gods that somehow seem to get more scenes than they did before.
Persephone is more beautiful, more powerful, more self-conscious and sure about her feelings for Hades, but somehow she is more broken and emotional, like she’s never gonna get past the thing Apollo did to her.
And now, when Zeus is eager to make her pay for her actions, real chaos is happening in Olympus. The Underworld bursts into their world, and nothing’s gonna stop them.
Persephone and Demeter are persona non gratae, but the truly cruel gods are among them. Apollo is trying to reach her and win her over, and Zeus is ready to give her to him.
But was Persephone ever meant to be his, to be given and received like a gift?
It takes just one moment of honesty for Hades to find out about Persephone’s dark secrets and curse all of Olympus.
And they will pray to be killed as soon as Hades takes care of those who ever hurt the goddess who stole his heart.
The goddess of spring and the god of the Underworld. How is this ever gonna work? Just like that. Like flowers growing on tombs. Beautiful, broken, strange. Just like Hades and Persephone. Strange but beautiful.
Oh my God!
Is it really necessary to repeat the same thing? That I hate Apollo and Minthe? No? Okay. Then you already know that very well. But guys, I loved the development of these two gods’ relationship so much!!!
I chose to write a review for both the sixth and seventh volumes because I bought them and read them at the same time and since they are all on Webtoon, I realized they could easily be one big book with all these episodes, considering they don’t have a number of pages.
So this is it. My opinion. I love it. I love this series, these characters, and this amazing universe. I LOVE the mythology, and I love how Rachel Smythe created this fictional perspective of the gods. And as usual, I love the illustrations. This is something genuine, original, and so beautiful. I think I could read about these main characters for another hundred books and never get bored of their story.
This time, I fell in love with Hera and her son, with Artemis and Daphne, Eros and Thanatos, and for some reason with Demeter. Even though I still don’t know what to think about her.
There are some emotional and very sad stories and fates here, and I can’t wait to read about them in the next volumes. I hate the trial! And I wish Apollo would be in Kore’s place. But I think he will lose everything soon.
And I think Hades will be behind everything that’s going to happen to him.
I just can’t wait to read the eighth and ninth volumes, and I still want an official relationship between Hades and Kore. AND I think we will get that happy ending soon because the author announced the end of the series. And that’s sad. I don’t want this to end, it’s my favorite comic ever! But there is much more until then, and I can’t wait to read about the end of Apollo.
Till then, I’m going back to Olympus. And I hope you liked my review, darlings! Have a wonderful winter. Or a winter wonderland. Either way, may it be filled with amazing and magical books!
With love,
