"What's a being like you doing in a place like the Underworld?''
''The sun never touches the Underworld. It's the perfect place."

The Underworld is blooming now that Kore is a permanent presence, but what can Hades and Persephone do when all the gods are turning against them?

Things are slipping out of control, and just when everything seems to be settling down, chaos begins to bloom too.

And then Persephone is gone, and in her absence, the world changes forever. What would Hades do to find the goddess he fell in love with?

Let me tell you: if I thought I was in love with Lore Olympus before, Volume 5 just sealed the deal. Rachel Smythe has me completely hooked. The drama, the beauty, the slow burn... it's everything I want in a story and more! And Persephone? Even though she acts a little silly at times, she is by far the most adorable character in the entire series.

But let’s start with Hera. Oh. My. Goddess. Hera shines in this volume! Her presence is like thunder in high heels. Regal, powerful, and full of layered emotions. She’s no longer just a background goddess-she’s the boss. The way she handles messy politics and divine scandals with sharp wit and a stunning wardrobe? Absolutely iconic. Honestly, she’s climbing my list of favorite characters so quickly. And I love it!

Now let’s talk about Hades and Persephone because, YES, we’re finally seeing real progress! Baby steps, sure, but every look, every touch, every vulnerable moment between them makes my heart squeeze. The way Hades is so patient with her, and the way Persephone is slowly learning to trust, it's achingly beautiful. I found myself smiling like a little girl while reading and soaking in those amazing illustrations of the two of them.

And then there’s Apollo. The big, ugly monster of this story. Ugh. Every time he shows up, my stomach turns. He’s slimy, manipulative, and I cannot stand how he continues to hover over Persephone like a shadow. I hate him. Truly. Every volume that passes where he gets away with his dirty little secret makes me want to beat the Underworld out of him—if you know what I mean.

And after everything I read, I got to that ending. I’m still not over it. It’s the kind of cliffhanger that makes you want to immediately buy the next books. BUT now I’m doing my absolute best not to binge the rest on Webtoon. Because I want that beautiful feeling of holding the physical book, turning the pages, and breathing in that new book smell.

And yes, the art? As magical, gorgeous and breathtaking as ever. Who would’ve thought a world of brightly colored characters could steal so many bookish hearts?

I fall more in love with this world with every volume. The scandal, the sensuality, the heartbreak, the healing, it has everything. And Volume 5 just reminded me why this is, without a doubt, my favorite graphic novel series ever.

I probably don’t need to say this again, like I’ve done in my past reviews, but here we go: please give this series a chance, because it’s amazing! You will love it with all your heart. And while you do that, I’ll be off buying the next volumes!

    With love,
