''People are like stained glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there's a light from within.''

Now that Ethan Holt is back in her life, Cassie would do anything to stay away from that well-known pain which he brings into her life. But it feels like all her world is drawn to his. He wants to be her perfect Romeo now, but where were he when she needed him the most? Why did it take him so long?

There is not a good answer to justify his absence, but nothing is what it seems. Ethan Holt was so damaged and so broken that every part of him screamed to leave her so as not to darken her with all the shadow that was in his soul. And he left and she was shattered, but then she moved on. Or she thought she did...

But now she is ready to give Ethan a second chance. He seems to be another man, a man who healed all his trauma and who is ready to speak with her. But after all this time, what if he caused her the same trauma? What if she is too broken to love him anymore? And what if the love will be a toxic one?

''The problem is, I've had more practice hating him than loving him.''

Now we get to know the reasons he was so broken and all his fears. The chapters alternate their story from the present and their tragic story from the past. Will the present end so painfully like their past? Ethan and Cassie are two amazing actors, but not even the best actor could fake love...

Dancing through dates, diaries, memories and confessions, Cassie learns to trust him. Their future rests in her hands. Now it's his turn to wait, because it all started once with a bad Romeo and a Broken Juliet, and this is their story. So, is this story a tragedy or a happy romance?

''Bravo for faking it again, Ethan. You're a perfect counterfeit copy of someone I thought I love.''

Oh my God! I loved this volume as much as I did with the first one and I don't think I've read another amazing romance series this year, not as good as this one! I loved the way Ethan changed and I loved the man he became, and I loved even the way Cassie fought to keep him at distance!

After all, there is a burning love between them and nothing could ever change this! I was thrilled once more to read these amazing scenes, reading the beautiful descriptions of Leisa Rayven and I adored Ethan's diaries! I was so curious what was going on inside his damaged mind back then...

Officially this is one of my favourite tropes! Two actors playing in the play of their lives, two actors trying to act like they are not living the love of their lives which is slipping through their fingers. How beautiful is this?

And the series is not ending here because I cannot wait to read Elissa's story, the Christmas volume and, of course, the novels! But till then I recommend you Starcrossed series with all my heart! You will love Cassie and Ethan so much!

At some point I was feeling like I was reading Love, Rosie by Cecelia Ahern, but the difference is that time has not passed so much for them in this book.

I hope you will read this beautiful series and I hope you will love Ethan as much as I did. The old Ethan and the new Ethan, because how could you not love every side of him? I wish you magical readings, darlings and thank you if you read my review!
