"I barely knew her, but somehow I knew even then at sixteen, Beth Carmichaed would ruin me. Either in good way or the worst way imaginable."
After almost a decade since I read the first volume of this amazing series, here we are, back on Dublin Street! And now we have a new series to obsess over: Return to Dublin Street...
If there is a single thing better than a good series, it's a spin-off where we get the story of the characters' kids. So, in this first volume, we have the story of Beth Carmichael, Braden and Joss's daughter.
Now, at the age her mother was when she was born, Beth is a young workaholic woman with a single dream: to find someone with whom she can live the same love story her parents have. But this almost impossible wish can't interfere with her job, because Beth is trying to take her social media management company to the next level.
But here’s the deal. One of Scotland’s most famous and hottest professional footballers, Callan Keen, is now her neighbor. And that’s not all—he's still mad at her for something that happened when they were teenagers.
Beth can admit Callan is one of the most handsome men she has ever seen. But this cannot mean anything good in her life. Destiny makes it worse for Beth Carmichael when a huge client opportunity arises, and she suddenly needs Callan's help.
You know that saying: a deal is a deal. So Beth arranges a fake date with Callan, who needs a meeting with her father to help him with his business. But as one thing leads to another, their chemistry seems to be just as shocking and sparkling as it was when they were young.
How bad can it be for Beth Carmichael to have Callan as her friend with benefits? Callan has vowed to never let another person close enough to break his heart again, and she knows he is a Don Juan. Not a perfect match, as you can see. But there is something that makes their hearts beat faster when they are around each other.
Not to mention they have their own demons lurking in the darkness of their minds, ready to attack at any moment. History repeats itself...
There is always room for love on Loverose Lane. But will Beth and Callan take the chance of their lives, or will they lose the greatest love of all... slipping right through their fingers?
Welcome back on Dublin Street, darlings!
Oh my, how I loved this book! On Loverose Lane was everything I needed to read right now! Not only did I love the story between Beth and Callan, but I also missed Samantha's writing style so much! I knew from the very beginning this would be an amazing story and it lived up to my expectations.
The chemistry between Beth and Callan was almost like Joss and Braden’s. I saw someone on Goodreads who said something like "can't wait for Joss and Braden 2.0," and now I think this book was pretty much like that one where it all started so long ago.
I loved both Beth and Callan and their strong personalities! I liked Baird and John so much, but most of all, I loved all the family meetings with my beloved characters whom I really missed! I missed all of them, especially Clark and Elodie and I missed all those jokes and the charisma from their gatherings!
I think Joss was an important character in the second part of the book, and even though I thought Braden would be a little bit of an overprotective dad when it comes to his little girl, I was so happy to see he was still the same awesome, badass, and hot Braden from On Dublin Street.
I laughed a lot, I smiled, and I got emotional while reading this amazing book. Probably no spin-off will ever be as good as the first series, but this was a very good first book for a second series.
It was a feeling I can't describe all that familiarity and all the melancholy of meeting the characters I already knew, combined with the excitement of a new story… just what I needed!
I think Samantha is and will always be one of my favorite authors, and I can't recommend her books more highly than I already do, even if I wanted to. She is amazing, and I think you will love all her Scottish hotties and all their emotional stories, because behind all that spice, there is always something that melts your heart.
Her books have everything they need. And I am so, so happy to be back on Dublin Street! I can't wait to read more new stories!
Thank you for reading my review, darlings!
