   Rating: 4⭐/5⭐

“The impossible could not have happened, therefore the impossible must be possible in spite of appearances.”

After a lot of work, Hercule Poirot has finally a vacation. What could happen now, on the board of the Orient Express? Whatever it is, surely nothing will include the world's greatest detective. Now it is time for his vacation.

But suddenly, a snowdrift stops the Orient Express as it travels through the mountainous Balkans. Everything seems to be alright, until Hercule is taken from his cab and thrown right into the middle of a murder. Someone committed a murder on the Orient Express. And the victim is none other than Mr. Ratchett, a businessman with lots of enemies.

It seems like one of his enemies was on the board of the train, dreaming to kill the man with a dark past. But who can be the murderer?

Our famous detective starts to interrogate the passengers and he begins to doubt their alibis as well. It will be a long road to discover the truth, especially when no one seems to be capable of murder.

Gathering all the clues, Hercule begins to piece together the puzzle that presents the night of Ratchett's death. But some clues seem intended to complicate the investigation. Hercule and his friend, Bouc, are trying to solve one of Hercule's most difficult case.

But once the investigation progresses, some secrets are discovered and everything takes a dangerous turn.

Hercule Poirot had no idea that the Orient Express crime would be the hardest of his entire career...

This was my first book from Hercule Poirot series and knowing that you can read them in any order, I wanted to start with this one. Not just because it is one of the most famous stories written by Agatha Christie, but because I wanted to see the movie so much!

While I was making my Johnny Depp movies list, one year ago, I saw the name of this movie. I never knew he played in Murder on the Orient Express, but don't get too excited, he is not Hercule, as I hoped, he is just the victim and he dies very soon. I don't think this is a spoiler, especially if you read the plot before.

Well, I read this book and I was so captivated by the story and by Hercule Poirot, the most famous detective of all time! I read it in a few hours, one evening and then I wanted to see the movie. And I did. And I almost cried. It is the first time ever when I see an adaptation of a famous story that is better then the book.

I think they made Hercule's character much more involved, much more full of emotions than he was in the book. And the ending is much better than it was in the book. But this is just because of the "Never forget" song. It is heartbreaking, but more heartbreaking is the fact that Michelle Pfeiffer is the one cu sings it. And if you will read or watch the story you will understand why is so painful to hear this song from miss Hubbard.

But this is not about the movie, in particular, this review is about the book and about how much I liked it! My mother was right, you can never know who the murderer is in Agatha Christie's books, and I have a feeling this is the most special case in this series. The ending has a big impact and all I can say is this: I recommend this book and I recommend the movie as well! It is almost illegal to read the book without watching the movie and you hear this from a person who never watches movies based on books.

Thank you for reading my review, darlings!
