"Albus, Everything You Saw, I Saw... Everything.''
Professor Albus Dumbledore is well aware that the formidable Dark wizard, Gellert Grindelwald, is making his move to take over the wizarding world. Realizing he cannot confront him by himself, Dumbledore goes to Newt Scamander, entrusting him with the leadership of a daring group of witches, wizards, and a courageous Muggle baker.
Their perilous journey brings them face-to-face with both familiar and mysterious creatures while battling Grindelwald’s expanding army. But as the danger escalates, how much longer can Dumbledore stay in the shadows?
A long time ago, I read the first two volumes of the Fantastic Beasts series. At that time, I absolutely loved the story, I loved returning to this incredible world, to Hogwarts, and I was fascinated by the characters as well.
I didn’t even know until six months ago that the final part of the series had been published. I added it to my wishlist and waited, believing the perfect moment to read it would come.
And it did this Christmas when Santa brought me The Secrets of Dumbledore. Yes, yes, I was so excited when I unwrapped this present!
I read it, and although it wasn’t as good as the first two books, I was still incredibly excited to dive back into a story from the Wizarding World.
The story was beautiful, except for some pages filled with photos and numerous illustrations with a certain character. And, at last, I got to see the new Grindelwald.
Yes, I am one of Johnny Depp’s fans, and in my opinion, he was the perfect—and the only—Grindelwald. So, while reading the final of the series, I imagined him and only him in this role.
I loved the story, the magical atmosphere, and the fact that this one focused on Dumbledore’s youth. Not gonna lie, Dumbledore was—and still is—one of the greatest wizards of all time. And seeing a story where he is young? Absolutely thrilling.
As I always say, you can’t write a lengthy review for a short book, especially when it’s a screenplay. I also don’t want to give away too many spoilers, given that this is the final part of the series. However, I’m not sure I’ll watch the movie.
I adored the first two films, and every actor was amazing, but with this new Grindelwald, I don’t think the movie will match anymore with the version of the story playing in my head.
And since Fantastic Beasts is the title of the series, how could I not mention them? Every time a new creature appeared in these books, it felt just like the moment Hagrid showed Harry, Ron, and Hermione the dragon egg in his little hut.
Magical. Purely magical! I know I will read Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts again when I’m forty, then sixty, then eighty—and I will never get tired of this extraordinary world.
So, it’s no surprise that I wholeheartedly recommend these books and everything J.K. Rowling has written about the Wizarding World. It has been a part of my soul for a long time already. And this comes from someone who keeps adding more and more Harry Potter collectibles to her collection every year!
Just read and reread Harry Potter, please. And Fantastic Beasts!
Thank you for reading my review, guys!
With love,
Ruxandra from Angels from Books
